Department of the European Integrated Border Management

The Department of the European Integrated Border Management provides education in all forms and levels of study at the Academy of the Police Force in Bratislava. The focus of the education is mainly on the European integrated border management, the residence agenda, the issuing of visas and travel documents, the examination of the authenticity of travel documents and the migration policy of the European Union. The Department of the European Integrated Border Management carries out internships with the students of the Academy of the Police Force at the external border of the Schengen area and at Frontex Agency as well. The department holds international scientific conferences and is active in scientific publishing and editorial activities within its competence. It also organises a shooting competition for students and employees of the Academy of the Police Force in Bratislava. Attention is focused on cooperation with the Bureau of Border and Foreign Police of the Presidium of the Police Force and its subordinate police departments, International Police Cooperation Bureau, Migration Office of the Ministry of Interior of the Slovak Republic. It cooperates with the Frontex European Union Agency. The department also cooperates with the International Organisation for Migration – IOM, the Human Rights League, and professional organisations dealing with the issue of unmanned aerial vehicles – UAVs. The department further cooperates with the Police Academy of the Czech Republic, the University of Public Service in Budapest, the Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, the State Border Service of Azerbaijan Republic, the Faculty of Law of Trnava University, and the University of Žilina.
