The Department provides the teaching of private law (subjects of civil law, commercial law and labour law) in study programs Security and Legal Protection of Persons and Property and Security and Legal Services in Public Administration, in all three levels of university study. It also participates in further education. The results of the scientific work and scientific research of the department members are presented in monographs, textbooks, teaching texts, scientific and professional journals and conference proceedings. The Department cooperates with departments of a similar focus at universities in the Slovak Republic, and abroad, mainly with the partner Department of Private Law of the Police Academy of the Czech Republic in Prague. It also develops cooperation with institutions of security practice, legal practice and experts from relevant legal professions.
