Department of Criminology of the Academy of the Police Force in Bratislava addresses scientific and research assignments in compliance with the assignments based on the government and sectoral strategy documents, in particular ´Strategy concerning the Crime Prevention and Anti-social Activity in the Slovak Republic for 2016 - 2020.

Determining the Level of Legal Awareness in Citizens of the Slovak Republic with an Emphasis on Drug Crime
Currently, researchers/teaching staff of the Department of Criminology are actively involved in the scientific and research assignment Determining the Level of Legal Awareness in Citizens of the Slovak Republic with an Emphasis on Drug Crime. Project of the scientific and research assignment is registered under number 3/2019 at the Department of Acquisitions and Innovations of the Presidium of the Police Force.

,,Short-term Prognosis of Drug Crime Evolution in the Slovak Republic 2015 - 2019"
In 2015, the Academy of the Police Force in Bratislava solved scientific and research assignment under the title ´Short-term Prognosis of Drug Crime Evolution in the Slovak Republic 2015 - 2019.´ Scientific and research assignment was solved in compliance with the project that is publicly available in the Library of the Academy of the Police Force in Bratislava. The Principal Investigator (PI) of the Scientific and Research Assignment if Jana Uličná, J.D. (the Academy of the Police Force in Bratislava). The project team members were researchers/teaching staff of the Department of Criminology Assoc. prof. Magdaléna Ondicová, Ph.D. and Michaela Kiššová, M.A., Ph.D. (The project team members were responsible for the correction of questionnaires and their distribution to individual respondents, currently all the questionnaires are filled in by the respondents, assessed and stored at the Department of Criminology).
,,Analysis of Situation in Area of Prostitution in the Slovak Republic"
The research was conducted in 2012 (from January to April) by the employees of the Department of Criminology of the Academy of the Police Force in Bratislava. The subject matter was consulted with the police professionals and relevant organisations. The project was completed in April 2012 following the submission of the final report to the Ministry of Interior of the Slovak Republic as the final report formed a basis for policy documents related to prostitution in the Slovak Republic negotiated at the Government level.
,,Forms of Trafficking in Human Beings for the Purposes of Forced Labour and Forced Begging"
The research was conducted in between the years 2012 and 2013 by the research/teaching staff of the Department of Criminology of the Academy of the Police Force in Bratislava. The main focus of the project was laid on trafficking in human beings for the purposes of forced labour and forced begging as those forms of trafficking in human beings have increased recently and it was necessary to take into account also crime demands and public awareness of possible risks. The subject matter was consulted with the police professionals and relevant organisations, in particular the International Organisation on Migration (IOM). The project was completed in June 2013 following the submission of the final report.
,,Trafficking in Human Beings with regard to Slovakia´s Entry to Schengen"
The project team members of the scientific and research assignment included researchers/teaching staff of the Academy of the Police Force in Bratislava, employees of the Ministry of interior of the Slovak Republic, executives of the Presidium of the Police Force (Department of Trafficking in Human Beings of the Office for Combating Organized Crime) and employees working for the organizations providing help to victims of trafficking in human beings (SKC Dotyk, Civic Association Prima, Civic Association Storm). In December 2011 the project was completed by submission of the final report that is publicly available in the Library of the Academy of the Police Force in Bratislava - Project: Research No. 137
,,Forms of Trafficking in Human Beings for the Purposes of Forced Labour"
In regard to current need to solve the issues related to trafficking in human beings in the Slovak Republic and the assignments set in ´the National programme for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings 2008 - 2010´ the need to inform the public about the issues related to forced labour with purpose different than sexual exploitation and the need to conduct the research on the topic of forced labour has arisen. The research was conducted in Roma community as more than 60% of victims of trafficking in human beings are from Roma community. The project team members included researchers/teaching staff from the Academy of the Police Force in Bratislava and employees from the Ministry of Interior of the Slovak Republic cooperating with the Office of the Government Plenipotentiary for the Roma Community. The project was completed in the second half of 2010 as the final report was submitted and is archived in the Library of the Academy of the Police Force in Bratislava under the Project No. 158, Accession No. 34/2011.
