Department of Information Science and Management

Department of Information Science and Management forms an integral part of the Academy of the Police Force in Bratislava and covers pedagogical as well as scientific activities in two groups of relatively individual subjects in the fields of management and informatics. A significant part of the work of the members of the Department is focused on expertise and training activities intended for sectoral and other workplaces.

In accordance with the graduate profile of the Academy of the Police Force in Bratislava, the Department focuses on important aspects of the general training of managers of the Police Force and other security services, as well as public administration. These include, in particular, the ability to use available information and information systems using computer technology and its software, knowledge of major management activities and management methods with an emphasis on people management, acquisition of basic managerial competencies in the management of individual sections of police/security services, i.e. organizations in the field of public-administration.
