The Academy of the Police Force in Bratislava falls under to a university system of the Slovak Republic and operates as a state university.  Throughout its existence, the Academy has been carrying out its mission by training high quality and professionally skilled specialists for the needs of the Police Force, special units of Ministry of Interior and other state and non-state security services.

Department of Criminal Police deals with issues related to operational services conducted by armed  security forces of SR. The main goal is to teach students to detect and  register cases of violent, moral, property, drug, economy, organized and  international crime and corruption.

Investigation Department  is concerned with theory and practice of investigation. The teaching aim is to provide an integrated system of theoretical and practical insights into crime investigation in terms of decision-making process, probation and summary investigation.

Criminalistics and Forensic Science Department trains the expertise and research specialists in criminalistics and related sciences. It carries out a research related to criminalistic technics and tactics.

História

Transformácia našej spoločnosti po roku 1990 výrazne ovplyvnila prípravu projektu o zriadení vysokej školy, ktorej poslaním bude zabezpečenie prípravy vysokoškolsky vzdelaných príslušníkov Policajného zboru a ďalších bezpečnostných služieb.
